Hi. I am trying to trace my father and my grandfather´s baptism certificates. They were both born in La Coruna and came to Australia in 1909. My father (Eduardo Suarez Cao) in December 1900 (we think) and my Grandfather ( Rogelio Suarez Sanchez) on the 26th July 1869. Unfortunately I do not speak Spanish and am not sure how to go about researching in Spain. ANy help you can give would be appreciated. Thanks. Eric Suarez. 13th July 2003.

Eric,
First you need to know which city and parish of A Coruña your father and grandfather were born. When you get that information you can send a letter, fax or (sometimes) true internet to the Register of births of the city council, presuming they were born after 1.873. You can also apply for the baptism certificates at the church of the parish were they have been born (after 1.900) and before that, probably the Archive of the Bishopric of Santiago de Compostela. They have also fax and e-mail.
